Custom prepress softwareStega Tisak · 2025

Encrypted data in, press-ready files out

Stega Tisak receives production data in a closed, encrypted format and has to turn it into files a press can actually run. We built the software that decrypts that data, validates it and prepares it for print — so a step that used to be manual, slow and easy to get wrong now happens on its own.

A production step that had to stop being manual

The data that drives each print run arrives encrypted and structured for the system that produced it, not for the press. Getting from one to the other meant decrypting, reading, checking and reassembling — work that is precise, repetitive and unforgiving of a small mistake.

We wrote software that does the whole step: it decrypts the incoming payload, checks that what came out is complete and consistent, and produces the files prepress needs, in the form it needs them.

  1. The challenge

The format the data arrives in is not the format the press needs

Doing the conversion by hand is slow, and an error is not discovered on screen — it is discovered on paper, after the run. The cost of a mistake is measured in material and machine time.

  2. The solution

Decrypt, validate, prepare — in one automated pass

The software takes the encrypted input, decrypts it, validates the result against what a correct job looks like, and writes out press-ready output. What used to need a person's full attention now needs their approval.

  3. The impact

Fewer manual steps, and mistakes caught before the press

Jobs reach prepress faster and in a consistent shape. Problems in the incoming data surface as a clear message instead of as a spoiled run.

What we built

  1. 01Automated decryption of incoming production dataThe encrypted payload is decoded by the software rather than by hand, so the step is repeatable and takes the same time every job.
  2. 02Validation before anything reaches the pressDecoded data is checked for completeness and consistency, and anything that does not look like a correct job is reported instead of passed on.
  3. 03Press-ready output, in the expected shapeOutput is written in exactly the structure prepress expects, so no one reformats files between the system and the machine.
  4. 04Built into the existing production routineThe tool sits inside the workflow the team already uses — it replaces a manual step rather than adding a system to learn.

A quiet piece of software doing a job nobody should do by hand

This is the kind of custom software that never gets demonstrated: it runs inside the production routine, removes a slow manual conversion and makes a whole print run less likely to go wrong.
